After the greatly foreboding and dim first teaser, a trailer for Cars 3 seems to be dropping sooner than expected earlier. Amid the latest round of the College football playoffs, Pixar declared the trailer would drop amid the Alabama versus Clemson game.
The game will happen on Monday, January 9th at 8 pm EST on ESPN. So at some point during Monday night , we will be able to see the trailer’s release. Ideally, we’ll get the chance to see a greater amount of the tone for the up and coming film– whether the film will really age like its fans have.
While after the secret, bits of gossip about Lightning McQueen biting the dust twirled, the official synopsis says something else.
Blindsided by a new generation of blazing-fast racers, the legendary Lightning McQueen is suddenly pushed out of the sport he loves. To get back in the game, he will need the help of an eager young race technician with her own plan to win, inspiration from the late Fabulous Hudson Hornet, and a few unexpected turns. Proving that #95 isn’t through yet will test the heart of a champion on Piston Cup Racing’s biggest stage!
Owen Wilson is the only cast member currently set to return, but it is likely at least Larry the Cable Guy, who played Towmater, will return as well.
Cars 3 is racing into theaters on June 16th, 2017.
