Sigourney Weaver is playing Alexandra as described by “The Defenders” show-runner Marco Ramirez as an “utter badass.”
“Sigourney is the kind of person you can buy as the smartest person in the room, who you can also buy as a person holding a flamethrower. Her character is a very powerful force in New York City. She’s everything Sigourney is: sophisticated, intellectual, dangerous.” Ramiez said before stopping himself short of revealing full character details. “I’m sorry. I can only say a bunch of adjectives right now.”
Ramirez also states Sigourney Weaver’s Alexandra is on par with big bad guys such as Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin in Daredevil.
“We knew it would take something massive to pull these four characters from their individual worlds to work together,” Ramirez said. “But also small enough that it felt like it existed in our world.”
Sigourney Weaver is playing the big bad villain part in the upcoming Defenders crossover mega series for Marvel and Netflix that components Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist.
Presently Marvel TV has released a first look at Sigourney Weaver in Defenders notwithstanding the disclosure of her part.
“Marvel’s The Defenders” follows Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. A quartet of singular heroes with one common goal – to save New York City. This is the story of four solitary figures, burdened with their own personal challenges, who realize they just might be stronger when teamed together.
The Defenders will debut on Netflix in 2017 with eight episodes.
